“Why not just use Claude?”

You should. Claude does its best work with Switchboard underneath.

What Claude gets from Switchboard.

One source of truth.

Every metric is defined once, in one place, and Claude reads that definition instead of guessing. You never explain what a lead is twice. Anyone on the team can edit a definition in plain English.

Every system, joined.

Orders, invoices, and spreadsheets are already joined in one place. One question reads all of them.

No time lost pulling data.

On its own, Claude can spend a long time just pulling data from your systems. Switchboard handles all of that, so Claude does what it does best.

Permissions and governance.

Everyone signs in as themselves and sees only what they're allowed to see. You always know who asked for what.

Fewer tokens per answer.

Tokens are what AI usage costs, and Claude alone burns them re-reading your data. On Switchboard it loads only what each question needs, so answers cost less.

Purpose-built for data work.

Switchboard ships with skills for every kind of data work, and your Claude gets them too.

“What's our margin by product line?”

The same question, asked in both setups.

Is Switchboard a replacement for Claude?

No. Switchboard is the data platform underneath, with its own built-in AI, Operator. Claude plugs into it. Use either, or both.

Can't our engineers connect Claude to our databases directly?

They can, and it demos well. But then someone has to write down the definitions and checks that keep the answers right, and keep all of it running. That's the job Switchboard does for you.

How is Operator different from using Claude?

Operator lives inside Switchboard: it builds and edits dashboards directly and learns your business over time. Operator and your Claude read the same model, so they agree. Use both.

Does it work with AI tools besides Claude?

The Claude connection uses MCP, an open standard, so any MCP-compatible tool can connect. Claude is the one we support and test against today, on the web and in Claude Desktop.
